Job Description

Developmental Disabilities Association (DDA) is a leading employer in BC’s social services sector. With over 50 community-based programs and services for children, youths, and adults in Vancouver and Richmond, we offer superior programs and services to enable people with developmental disabilities to reach their full potential.

Casual employees receive $16.74 per hour plus an additional 9.8% in lieu of benefits. Union membership will be required upon hire (BCGEU).

You must submit availability for a minimum of 2 shifts per week, and must include every other weekend. Once hired as casual you may apply for permanent full time and part time postings. To see more about DDA look at our website www.develop.bc.ca.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Certificate in an approved Health Care Trainging Program.
  • First Aid and CPR
  • 1-2 years experience working with developmentally disabled people.
  • Ability to implement complex behavior programs.
  • Skilled in proactive training programs and crisis intervention.
  • Preferred is formal training in the area of behavior management.

Standard requirements of the Awake Night Staff include:

  • Criminal Record Clearance
  • Medical Clearance
  • Driver’s Abstract
  • Valid First Aid/CPR
  • Non-violent Crisis Intervention Certification
  • Demonstrated competency in English written and verbal communication
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Eligible to work in Canada
