Due to further expansion, Multigraphics is currently seeking a Prepress Technician to work in Burnaby, Vancouver. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:-
• Responsible for accurately processing customer supplied files for large format digital printing while maximizing production efficiencies.
• Must be able to pre-flight, process and impose text and component PDF files for printing.
• Must be able to read and accurately interpret production orders and print specifications to handle data.
• Comfortably navigate a digital network with servers and workstations.
• Communicate with customers regarding any issues, questions or concerns regarding electronic file issues via the phone, hard copy, and e-mail.
• The ability to communicate in technical terms (verbal and written form) with clients, customer service, printers, and technical personnel.
• Must be fully qualified in the use of InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat.
Qualifications: The successful candidate must possess excellent organizational and problem-solving skills and be able to work in a fast paced environment with little or no supervision. All file processing is controlled via A computer interface and requires the ability to navigate through multiple computer screens to quickly and efficiently solve problems. Computer software experience in a prepress environment is necessary. You must have expert knowledge of PDF format workflow, Acrobat Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office. A high school diploma is required. Candidates must demonstrate strong reading and math aptitude. The successful candidate must be able to communicate at all levels and have the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Must meet the ergonomic and physical requirements for the position that includes lifting (up to 50 lbs.), standing, bending/stooping. Candidates must have a satisfactory attendance record and a history of working safely. All candidates must be able to differentiate between colors.
