Position Information

Location New Westminster/Coquitlam Campus Salary Range
Band 12 (Minimum- $99,050 , Control Point- $132,066, Maximum- $145,273). Placement within a salary band is typically up to Control Point based on skills, experience and internal equity. May place over Control Point in limited circumstances.
The Opportunity
You are an experienced and strategic leader in the field of risk management, accountable for managing the identification, development and administration of programs, tools and resources to support institutional risk management. You are responsible for leading the College's Enterprise Risk Management ( ERM ) program and maintain strong relationships with the Senior Management Team and Risk Management Branch ( RMB ) to ensure the College's ERM program supports it's strategic priorities

WHAT IT TAKES
EDUCATION , EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

    • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited post-secondary institution in a related discipline.
    • Canadian Risk Management ( CRM ), or a related designation.
    • Chartered Insurance Professional ( CIP ) designation would be an asset.
    • A minimum of seven years' experience in commercial Contract Administration and Enterprise Risk Management in an environment of similar scope and complexity.
    • At least five years of progressive management experience, preferably in a unionized, public sector environment.
    • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
    • Demonstrated working knowledge of the theories, principles and practices of:

      • Enterprise Risk Management
      • Contract Law and Negotiation
      • Indemnification Provisions
      • Property and Casualty insurance
      • Public Sector Procurement
      • Waivers and Informed Consents
      • Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy ( FIPPA )
      • Project Management


    • Exceptional attention to detail;
    • Strong organizational, analytical and leadership skills together with an ability to ensure effective decision-making within a collegial environment.
    • Ability to strategically identify issues and analyze alternatives.
    • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills together with proven experience in resolving conflict.
    • Demonstrated abilities that align with the Douglas College Core Competency Framework.
