We are actively seeking a senior manager and designer, for a permanent full time positions at our shipyard. Our company provides ship repair and shipbuilding services to the marine industry on the Pacific Coast of Canada. We are looking for a Senior Marine Designer/Naval Architect with hand on experience, and with a Technical degree or diploma, who is able to produce drawings with AutoCAD, produce design work, and give relate information to trades on repairs, modifications, and new ship construction for shipyard production. Must have hands on shipbuilding,
and on site working experience.
Technical Manager
Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, the Technical Manager undertakes and oversees the engineering effort for all work undertaken by the shipyard. The Technical Manager's responsibilities include ensuring the timely production of all technical information for the production group, estimating, work scope definition, providing technical instructions to the trade groups and on site technical support.
Qualifications
The successful candidate requires a minimum of 10 years of hands on technical experience in a shipyard or similar environment and will be a graduate from a recognized technical school with a diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture or similar. The successful candidate is a practical, production oriented, organized individual, capable of handling multiple jobs a once. Experience in a shipyard or related production environment at a supervisory level is essential. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and knowledge. This is a fulltime position.
